But experts warn too many Australians still do not properly understand the risks and new research suggests nine in 10 Victorians in high risk areas would not follow the prevailing advice to leave early on days of high fire danger.

This is worrying when you consider the data showing that the majority of bushfire deaths have been in Victoria.
