The Fire Danger Period for Knox City Council, Manningham Council, Maroondah City Council and Yarra Ranges Council will be lifted as of 1am Tuesday 11th April 2023.
If you burn off after the conclusion of the Fire Danger Period, please be mindful that it is easy to lose control of your small burn-off. You can refer to the CFA brochure ‘Are you burning off safely?’
to ensure your burn remains safe and legal. Take care and make sure you have water available at all times and never leave your burn-off unattended.
Before lighting a burn-off, we urge residents to always notify their neighbours and register their burn either online via firepermits.vic.gov.au or by calling the Burn-Off Notification Line on 1800 668 511.
Always check and adhere to your council’s local laws and regulations before burning off.

2023 is set to be a big year for the Brigade as it celebrates its 100th Birthday.
We intend to establish an online collection and overhaul our physical collection of memorabilia. The brigade will also produce an historical book based on the last 25 years.
This is a unique opportunity for you to share your memories – we know there are a lot out there.
With many of us spending more time at home, there is a fantastic opportunity to dust out the old photo albums and scramble through the attic. Maybe grandad’s old chest has some hidden treasures that need to see the light of day. We are on the lookout for photos, historical records, memorabilia, memories, anecdotes (the funnier the better) and stories whether written or oral; anything that contributes to capturing brigade and community history.
If you want to take part, submissions can be forwarded to oryteniroevtnqr100@tznvy.pbz or ring James on 0466 249409 to arrange a contact-free drop off or pick up. All contributions will be catalogued to ensure safe return and accredited appropriately if published.
